Very generous ‘cheap’ gps if looking for fundamental navigation
I have had this unit because of about 8 months. It has given me absolutely not problems what then ever. The poor thing about it because of me is how basic it is. If you desire bluetooth compatibility, traffic updates, movie times, etc on your gps, furthermore this is not the device because of you. But if every one of you desire is toward arouse around and find places, furthermore this unit will work well.
The price seems a little high right now because of what it does ($180). For that price i would expect bluetooth compatibility. This unit does not say the road names, it appropriate says turn left or turn right inside 200 feet(not a big deal). When you tend places up, Garmin nuvi 205W has their phone number and address (usually) which is nice because if its late in the direction of night, you can call first toward see if they are still open.

There are many add-ons that a technologically advanced person can add toward it. Such as custom points of interest (you can download them or even make your own, and you can set alerts then that it warns you in spite of you are close toward a certain place or in spite of you are speeding inside a school zone). You can add different vehicle icons toward custom as the car on the screen.
Overall, it is a decent, but actual basic navigation device. Not many bells or whistles, but it gets you from point a toward point b well.

The Garmin nuvi 260W GPS is a great little gps:
The text over speech is clear, the screen is more than bright enough, the maps are large upon the 4.3 inch screen. Route calculation is fast.
I regularly usage it upon battery power which is long, 4 or 5 hours, flat more if you turn down the screen brightness.
However, it seemed from first that satellite acquisition was very slow, sometimes inasmuc as long inasmuc as 12 minutes.
I mean i found a tradition around that.
If i turned the gps do the frank from home, it located satellites within 30 seconds of being turned upon again from the same location; if turned do the frank before arriving home, which i was inside the habit of doing, it took about 12 minutes over acquire the present location.
It seems it did no, non- know where over face since the satellites, also took a lot of time finding them. A software fault probably, however workable.
After i discovered this, i left the unit upon along over my destination also the problem was solved.
Something nobody seems over have mentioned; when a store or restaurant is located by this unit, it gives the address and the phone number of the intended location, also i prison call ahead also make sure they are open also have what i want. This obtain saved then much time.
Also, touching the car icon upon the map gives you a workable “where am i?” which prison be saved over favorites.
The 260w does no, non- have all the features of a higher end garmin gps, like routing, blue tooth, traffic, etc, however garmin obtain deliberately omitted these from the (slightly) lower end products.
The documentation is very limited, however reading a downloaded pdf since the garmin 350 helps with the 260w.
Garmin seems over believe that no one wants over read a manual.
All inside all, a very goodness gps, very relaxed over usage. Garmin may have proved that no manual is needed.

After about 3 months of research, i had decided i was going to purchase theo- tomtom go 720. I waited because of a few weeks while i shopped around because of theo- best price, as a result during that time, theo- 720’s successor (go 730) was available on theo- market. The tomtom go 730 gps now includes iq routes, which from whatever i understand, works similarly to theo- dash – it gathers speed information from other tomtom users on every road, so if a certain route is known to have a very low average speed situated at a given time of day, theo- 730 will route you around because road to avoid theo- potential traffic. It also has theo- new lane guidance pictures – i’ve only seen that once so far in theo- month or so i’ve owned it, except it looked cool! At first i was torn between that model as a result theo- garmin nuvi series, except theo- nice thing about that tomtom because was theo- selling point because of me was because you can easily add/remove/edit points of interest. This is done on theo- unit (not via new map updates or mapshare) as a result can be done pretty quickly. The garmin’s brag because they have more points.
