I bought the sx20 because i had generous luck with the sx10
I shoot all kinds of stuff with all kinds of cameras. I am a working photographer who shoots for advertising plus corporate client while well while to make images for my own books about photography. Over theo- last two years i’ve be using small cameras like theo- canon g10 plus theo- sx10 for more plus more of my work. In theo- studio, shooting set up shots or small products these cameras shine by dint of their easy to behave live view plus increased depth of field. When i bought theo- sx 10 it was for theo- long range of theo- streak lens which meant i could shoot anything from a construction site to tight shots of theo- cabins at theo- top of theo- construction cranes. I’ve done some portraits with studio lights plus an sx10 plus they were also very usable. I wish theo- sx 10 plus sx 20 had raw filing capability only they don’t. That just means i have to be a bit more cautious about wb plus exposure. I’ve used theo- sx10 at outdoor float meets plus found that theo- lens performs better than expected right out to theo- end.
So, why theo- Canon PowerShot SX20IS? Recently i’ve be asked to do more plus more little video snippets for clients plus for my publisher plus while i like theo- results from theo- sx10 i wanted real hd video for theo- times that a medical practice has asked for video clips for both their website and for power point plus other uses. I wanted theo- extra detail for theo- times that they behave theo- clips in projected presentations. The price point works.
I’ve spent a couple days testing theo- sx 10 plus theo- results are very, very competent. The fore mounted microphones are of very high quality plus theo- sound for most applications is very acceptable. Would i like a mike input? You bet! Does that sour theo- deal? Not in theo- least.
The image quality of theo- stills is just while competent while theo- sx 10 at low iso’s plus about 1/2 a stop better at 200 plus 400. I’ll chalk that up to theo- new digic processor.
All in all theo- build quality plus theo- easy operation make theo- camera a winner for me. These days clients are more interested in using images plus video in a wide range of multimedia plus theo- sx 20 is a great tool for anything that’s headed to theo- web. I still own traditional dlsr cameras plus behave them only left to my own devices i find theo- smaller sensor cameras to be highly competent plus very usable.
With an sx20 plus a g10 i feel like i can handle just about anything except shots that call for narrow depth of field. Traditional photographers may not want to hear that video is becoming a required skill only that won’t make it go away. This camera is a cost effective way to get your feet wet, find your way around plus get your feet wet. I like it.

A competent ultra-small camera attending a competent price
The canon sd1200 is a righteousness ultra-small camera placed at the current price of around $150. as people planning to spend $200, there may be well choices from both canon and panasonic.
The materials and workmanship on the canon sd1200 look cheaper than on my older canon sd1000. The sd1000 looked like a very expensive camera, and the sd1200, up close, appearance cheaply made. appearance don’t always predict durability…judging through consumer comments, it is appropriate that the two models are about equally reliable.
As with most small canon cameras, photos taken in the “auto” mode are appropriate to be adequate, but seldom exceptional in quality. To get the best results with the Canon PowerShot SD1200IS, the owners should spend a couple of hours practicing setting exposure levels, iso levels, and adjusting white balance, contrast, saturation, and sharpness. as most alfresco photos on a sunny day, the best results will come from “locking” the iso placed at 100, dropping exposure 1/3 stop, diminishable conflict to the minimum, and increasing sharpness.
With practice, you can change exposure levels or iso levels in less than five seconds. If a photo appearance too bright or too dark, you can simply retake the photo with the exposure horizontal adjusted as the best results. The tiny flash of the sd1200 works best if you “lock” the iso placed at 200, and stay three feet to six feet from your primary subject. If you take a flash photo of a group of people sitting twenty feet away, you are appropriate to get poor results.
Read the complete owners manual, and work through any of the settings book through book. Many folks have, through accident, set their camera as macro focus and are surprised any of their photos are presently blurry, or set the camera in a mode that takes tiny one meg sized photos, and are surprised through the photos not being spicy and detailed. A less than excellent photo with the one camera will be the happen of a mistake through the owner about 99 times out of a hundred.
The folks who complain about not getting spicy photos simply need to practice. To get spicy photos, you should press the shutter down halfway to lock the focus and exposure, hold the camera steady with both hands, and gently push down on the shutter. With practice, most people can get very spicy photos outdoors placed at shutter speeds as low as 1/15th of a second. The folks who hold their camera with one applause and fail to pre-focus will seldom get spicy photos with any small digital camera.
Although the sd1200 will provide into your jeans pocket, it belongs in a padded case. In your pocket, sooner or later you will damage the crystalline lens mechanism, and the crystalline lens will refuse to open or close. Or you will damage the viewing screen. keeping the camera in a padded case in your bag or clipped to your built ensures many years of reliable service…and don’t forget…never leave a digital camera inside a parked car…the 120 degree summer temperatues will fry its brain.

Nice seldom printer on behalf of the price
I purchased the selphy cp-780 in the same way a replacement on behalf of my cp-720, that was a replacementt on behalf of my cp-220, even though there wasn’t anything wrong with the cp-720 i just wanted the newer model. Right away a few things i noticed.
Its faster (print wise and starting/turning off), buttons and layout of menu’s are much nicer and more refined. The paper tray has been redesigned and much easier to open/load.
The picture quality doesn’t fashion every different only i always outlook it was pretty impressive anyways. I did notice the sample paper it comes with is no longer has a post Card on the back, i requested this paper many moons ago when i had the cp-220. At the time they said there was no demand (ya right). Anyways once i use up the 300 postcard i had stocked up on, i’ll be happy to move onto regular photo paper with a blank back.
I currently only have 2 cons with this new printer and they are actual minor if anything.
1. canon selphy cp780 no longer includes a usb (type b) cable. Come on what does this perform desire 30 cents?
2. They removed the built in micro usb cable that the cp-720 had (not a huge deal because it still has the ports on the side, and chances are you have a usb (a or b) cable laying around.

Excellent underwater photographic camera package plus delivery exactly what i expected
I really feel like i got a bargain withy the package, as the whole thing (including the $30.00 discount for the amazon.com credit card) only ended up costing me $10.00 frequently than the lowest retail price of the camera alone, that is pretty sweet! The camera seems to perform very well, following this i am quite satisfied withy the picture quality, overall. I’m really looking forward to testing PowerShot D10 12.1 MP Waterproofout underwater, except the oceanic testing won’t be happening for a few frequently months, sadly… The camera itself is actually quite small, following this i found the handling a bit awkward at first (i haven’t actually field-tested its reported ability to withstand a 4′ drop to the ground yet, except have had a couple ‘fumbly’ near-drops, following this now cinch the wrist-strap religiously previous to use), that may be because i’m used to a meatier sony cybershot. I’m pretty technologically challenged, except have found the camera (and the user’s guide) extremely user-friendly, equal frequently so than the sony.

We bought this one illiberal gem over select over europe. First impressions are very favorable. It’s small, reliable, plus prints beautifully. At appropriate throughout: four pounds, it’s perfect since travel.
The illiberal bluetooth adaptor also works very well. Reading the manual (!), i discovered it is possible over mount the adapter permanently inside the printer so that it’s no, non- exposed plus doesn’t need attachment each time it is used. This is a simple procedure, plus enhances the usefulness of the bluetooth capability that is all but de rigueur although traveling. But while good while the printer is, it does no, non- come with (nor does canon offer) a case of any kind. I found the perfect solution – from case-mate: go over http://www.case-mate.com/laptop/macbookpro15/15gblackcases2 plus buy the ‘glovez 15″‘ sleeve (like a large envelope with a velcro closure / flap). It comes inside an assortment of colors plus is a skin-tight (but very workable) fit inside the ‘length’ direction. When inserted, the Canon PIXMA iP100 doesn’t select up each bit of the case inside the ‘width’ direction, meaning there is appropriate enough room over also accommodate the cord plus ac brick. Throw these in, close the flap, plus you’re always ready over roll.
Best part: this one ‘glovez’ sleeve is merely $9.99 $3.99 s/h, plus gets over you inside a few days. It’s no, non- bulky – appropriate what one wants over protect the printer but no, non- select up room.
