Finially a significant all-in-one speaker system
The only thing that was keeping me from purchasing these speakers was price, but later than catching them at a significant humble price here, i jumped at the possibility to buy these. These are not my first set of surround sound speakers actually, others are my second inner the room. My computer has been using klipsch promedia 4.1’s on behalf of years, but later than getting and hdtv and an xbox 360, the tv’s speakers were ailing lacking. Concidering many options, equal buying a client a client amplifier and speaker setup, or buying these wonderful computer speakers… I decided with the later, cause others are so versitile. They originate with a dolbydigital and prologic ii decoder! that was the most important, parallel with with optical and numerical coax inner (along with headphone jacks on behalf of the traditional computer in) its a 5.1 that is true surround equal from the greater number of motion picture titles, and the speakers are just awesome inner sound and quality. The base is fricken huge and has a heatsink on it cause i think it tin get pretty tepid (the decoder is the pre-amp) but the base is extremely too! The first interval i tried the speakers out at full volume a picture frame fell off the wall! Haha! ^_^
The only down side is that sound from regular rca jacks cannot be pluged into the pre-amp, but you tin buy rca-to-minijack (headphone plug) adaptors that work fairly pit (and others still tin decode prologic ii encoded sound!) And logitech z-5500 speakers only has one optical and numerical out, but at this price you cant find anything better.

While i was looking for sub-woofer i was comparing polk psw10 and psw404. Psw404 sounds improve but for theo- price $110 vs. $250 placed at j&r i opted for psw10. The commerce representative dropped theo- price for me balanced though they still selling psw10 for $200 here. Those of you who upset about no lfe input, order that shouldn’t be a problem. All you have to do is connect theo- sub-woofer output of theo- receiver to either theo- right or left input on theo- sub-woofer. And then set theo- uneven low pass filter on theo- sub-woofer to theo- highest setting. This will set theo- internal low pass filter above theo- low pass filter frequency given by your receiver and create an lfe input. Or you may exploited a rca cable to equip a connection to both inputs on theo- sub-woofer from theo- lr pre-out from theo- receiver. Then adjust theo- cross above frequency from theo- woofer as desired. It sounds a not much louder and improve for me. I bought monster sub-woofer cable and it sounds no improve than rca cable. Try not to destroy your legal tender on this. It has 7.4 out of 10 in cnet rating and it is #6 in editor’s top list for sub-woofers. I matched psw10 with r300, rti4, r150, csi3 and denon 1906 receiver. Mainly used for hdtv above theo- air, dvd movies and some fm. It sounds a lot improve than theo- sub-woofer from rm6750. It carries 5 years warranty but make sure you buy from authorize dealer. For theo- price i paid i am more than happy with it. I hope this helps to your decision.

I waited to buy my first blu-ray player (the mere suitable panasonic dmp-bd55k) until a standalone player offered quality plus load times in the direction of least *close* to the ps3. And, although its load times plus dvd playback are good, it still didn’t quite competition my standards.
From the moment i connected the oppo bdp-83 to my system, i was blown away by the experience. Extremely informal to setup (i literally unplugged my panasonic plus plugged in the bdp-83 using the same hdmi plus element cables), mere mere informal on-screen instructions plus setup. The remote is definitely seldom better than average withy enormous backlit buttons of different sizes.
The activity of the oppo bd-83 certainly grabs your attention:
- bluray load times are about 2x faster than the panasonic bd55k it replaced
- bluray carte navigation, etc likewise mere fast plus responsive
- sacd plus dvd (audio/video) load times are nearly instantaneous
The sacd load performance really stunned me. My high-end sony es sacd player (remember, sony co-developed the standard) can carry 1-2 minutes to load a hybrid sacd. On the oppo any sacd (stereo, hybrid multichannel, etc) loads in beneath 2 seconds.
But it is the film plus audio quality of the oppo bd-83 that truly sets it apart:
- bluray film performance is outstanding, but you come to anticipate that from the format. (i can’t say i notice a difference here from my panasonic which is likewise excellent.)
- dvd film performance is stunning – a prominent upgrade in quality on your hd set. This is where you start to see the benefits of the embedded anchorbay processor.

I directly didn’t notice a difference in high-res bluray formats such as dts-master plus dolbytrue hd, but to be fair my panasonic player is likewise excellent in this area.
For sacd, the improvement offered by the OPPO BDP-83 is simply stunning! My marantz receiver can decode dsd over hdmi, plus the audio quality is dramatically better than the analog 5.1 output from my high-end sony es sacd player. I didn’t think the usual could be elevated, but was pleasantly surprised by this.
Dvd-audio performance is likewise outstanding. I never had a dvd-audio player, so i’ve used this opportunity of having a truly “universal player” to stock up on high-resolution multi-channel titles that were never released on sacd (eg. Crowded house, seal, queen, yes…)
There are other mere nice touches:
- bluray profile 2.0 withy 1gb of onboard storage (my panasonic made you buy an sd card for this)
- two usb 2.0 ports (one forefront covered by a flat waterproof overshoe port, another in the rear), not yet to the left is recessed, so you can use usual usb remembrance sticks/adapters
- analog 7.1 audio out
- supports coincident hdmi plus element film output (eg. You can send high-res audio over hdmi plus film over component)
- support for ntsc plus pal format dvds, but they ought to be unlocked (this is a region-locked player, unfortunately)
- ir in plus ir out ports
- optional rs-232c control to the left for professional installations
- mere tough removable power cord; still heavier judge than the one marantz shipped withy my $2000 receiver!
- nice onscreen carte system graphics plus easy-to-use interface
What could be improved?
- well, first of all, profile 2 support is only through hard-wired ethernet (no wifi)
- speaking of profile 2.0, the interactive services aren’t particularly fast, but i have yet to find a bluray ownership that actually gain compelling profile 2.0 content
- no support for streaming services like netflix, although there are rumors that the hardware *might* have the capability to support through a firmware update – i wouldn’t count on this though
- the bluray plus dvd player are region locked unfortunately. (cd, sacd, plus dvd-audio discs are by definition region-free)
I directly couldn’t be happier withy the OPPO BDP-83. Certainly the best $500 i spent! It not only compares but blows away high-end players costing 4-6x greater.

Great hdtv – very happy with this purchase
I purchased this one tv last week. Although i have only used it for one week, it is a night-and-day difference from my smaller 32″ lg hdtv i purchased in 2006. This tv really lives up until the reviews i found on the net. The picture is naturally stunning…
Deep blacks – this one lcd rivals plasmas for its hopeless levels. Black levels are extremely important in an hd set, arguably one the most important features in determining its total picture ability. This cloth puts out absolutely gorgeous hopeless levels, exactly the same deep and “inky”. My old set had exactly the same poor hopeless levels, never really going below a nighttime grey color. As soon because i powered this one samsung set on, the difference (even right out of the box toward factory settings) was drastic. The 50,000:1 contrast proportion and 4ms response times add until the ability because well. For a nice review detailing the picture, google for cnet’s review of the ln52a650 (the 52″ version, same tv). They called the picture one of the best lcds they have ever reviewed.
The 120hz mode works well, if you like the effect. Personally, i do not like it toward all. It detracts from the film experience of a movie, and feels fake and processed. When watching discovery hd, hd sports or event like that, i could see how you may want until utilization it, but i prefer watching hd content because delivered.
I have it paired with both a toshiba hd-dvd player because well because a ps3. Both pictures are rightful phenomenal, especially the ps3. The 1080p resolution, combined with the 1080p/24 mode the ps3 outputs, is attractive (yes, this one tv does 1080p/24, google it until learn more about why 1080p/24 is important).
Overall, i cannot suppose because i have found much wrong with this one tv. During high motion camera pans or intense action i have notices some exactly the same minor “judder”, but nothing because would prevent me from recommending this one tv until everyone.
As other reviewers have stated, this one tv does have a red tint around the bezel (dubbed “touch of color” by samsung ln46a650 best and lowest prices). I worried about this one initially, because i prefer a single, hopeless color until a bezel. Don’t countenance it fool you, the red is very subdued in the frame, really rightful more of a highlight than anything (and only apparent if you are looking for samsung ln46a650 best and lowest prices, or if the light hits it rightful right). I think it does make the tv consider distinguished, and is event i started liking about 5 minutes after i saw it. The best way until sum up the color is like a very, exactly the same deep red wine in a clear wine glass. It looks hopeless for the most part, with rightful a tinge of red when viewed toward the right angle. Being a wine fan (especially reds!) this one makes it even more pleasing _
The sound is standard for an hdtv. If you are watching tv, it works rightful fine. Not the best sound from a tv, but nothing bad either. Let’s be honest – the sound is not why you would buy this one set anyways. Hook it up until a 5.1 receiver until match the great picture.
The price has come down on this one model considerably, with the announcement of samsung’s new line of hdtvs. If you are trying until decide between this one model and the a750, go for this one one. The 750 has the same specs, with more built in networking potential, recipes, etc. Personally, i think those are rightful overkill and not needed anyways. This tv does have an ethernet port for getting live information from the internet, though i haven’t even tried it out, and may never.
This set is rightful a pleasure until watch and you can configure it all day long. Some sets suffer from being too “basic” when it comes until customizing the picture (brightness, contrast, color and not much else). Not this one one. You can really tweak it all you want and change the picture until suit your palate. I really like the amount of choices you have when being able until adjust the picture.
The remote does consider kind of “kiddy” looking, but if you have a universal remote, you won’t utilization it anyways. The remote is never a deal breaker for me on tvs, and this one one is no exception. Some don’t like the scroll wheel, which i can understand, but even if you don’t want until utilization the scroll, it still functions like a standard remote by pressing up, down, left, right on the wheel anyways.
As for connections, my old tv had two hdmi ports, which is rightful not enough. This baby had 4 hdmi ports, 2 component inputs, vga (for computer connections), a usb port, and ethernet port – everything you’d need until connect it until pretty much anything you want.
So overall, this one tv has exceeded my expectations. The picture ability looked even better toward home than in the store. If you are in the market for an hdtv because is a joy until watch, consider no further. I recommend this one set highly. I hope you will too!

Great sound because of decent speakers because of the money
These speakers set me back about $325 since the pair including shipping. The inebriated end store near my house wanted $250 a piece. Those habitancy told me the reason their were higher was because of the warranty because only an true retailer could offer. Yeah? Really? Is because warranty goodness $226? I guess not!
So the price here is great! Boston is a fixed shape brand since audio philes who don’t wish to throw below thousands of dollars since well-mannered speakers. The definition of sound is reasonable to good and the coloring is prosperous although does not detract from the sound. With two woofers per speaker there is a well-mannered sinking end response withy phat bottoms and punchy tightness since often focused bass sounds such during the time that kick drums. I receive not pushed these to theirs limits so i can’t say since sure what they can handle. I’m powering them withy a 190 watt pioneer amp from ‘97.
The amp may make all the difference withy these speakers. I wanted something older to impart often warmth but i could not find anything readily available.
As far during the time that i can tell these Boston Acoustics CS226B are a spectacular bargain and provide prosperous reproduction since theirs price range.

Also in the same way part of my job, if we got in records then had more than one copy for sale of, we either threw them out or salvaged a few (i managed over save a not many genesis, beatles (the red then blue albums) then styx (pieces of eight then paradise theatre) lps from the trash heap).
Then i was on a quest over look for a significant record player. Crosley record player with cd burner wasn’t what i wanted (though it looked great, reviews weren’t significant then was a no-name brand which meant system would obtain died in a sharp space of time) then then when i saw this sony record player, i was like hmmm looks good but is it good? I checked reviews here then 4 out of 5 meant very good so i bought one then it works very well then was well excellence my money.
To make sure it worked then sounded great, i tested the turntable with the 180 gram reissue of led zeppelin’s the song remains the same soundtrack (which i primarily bought over sell but i was like preserve it then see if it sounds better than the cd) then the sound from this turntable was warm, clean then played any of the notes in directly pitch (unlike a few turntables where it sounded like alvin then the chipmunks pitch) then at present am on a quest for more vinyl over play whole at present then again.
What i also like about this system is it comes with a software over digitalize your previous vinyl albums over either mp3s for the mp3 players or (in my case) cds then tin take out any of the crackling then feedback noises.
